Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
What it is
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an attachment-based approach rooted in something very simple: as humans, we are wired for connection.
Our nervous systems are shaped in relationship — and they heal in relationship, too.
How it works
EFT helps you understand how your early relationships shaped the way you move through the world now — how you cope, how you protect yourself, how you reach (or don’t reach) for others.
Together, we slow things down and look at the patterns underneath the surface: the triggers, the emotional cycles, the moments that feel bigger than they “should.”
EFT can be used with individuals or couples and supports the process of building what’s called “earned secure attachment” — the experience of feeling safer, more grounded, and more connected in your relationships.
How it helps
EFT brings awareness to attachment wounds, emotional triggers, and the protective strategies you may not even realize you’re using. From there, we create new emotional experiences — ones that feel safer, steadier, and more authentic.
Clients often notice:
More secure and satisfying relationships
Greater emotional regulation
Less self-criticism
Reduced anxiety and depression
A stronger, more compassionate relationship with themselves
EFT isn’t just about insight — it’s about transformation at the level of emotion and connection.
